Handwashing
Sent from my iPodLast Wednesday we were honored to have the health occupation class coming to our classroom to teach us about hand washed. The biggest focus we need to remember when washing our hands is to scrub hard with lots of friction. Student should count to 30 or sign the ABCs while washing their hands. Thanks Deb Johnson for bringing your kids to us!!
Math stations
Sent from my iPodThis week we been working on now stations. The math stations today were Candyland with numbers, math concepts, symmetry in playing store. We are starting to work very hard on counting money, focusing on nickels and pennies. Symmetry was a new concept we just introduced and talked about today. They did a great job at all stations.

Pre-Thanksgiving Week
What a fun week we had in Kindergarten! The last few days we started doing a lot of learning about Thanksgiving. Ask your child about Thanksgiving…where the Pilgrims came from? Why they wanted to leave England? How they got to America? What the Pilgrims and Native Americans wore for clothing and the houses they lived in…Wow, we have learned so much! We started making a Thanksgiving Journal/Book. They will be bringing it home on Wednesday. I encourage them to bring it with to Thanksgiving and read the story to some family members. Next week we will continue to with more Thanksgiving Activities. We are starting to learn about sentence structure. With our Thanksgiving learning, we are writing many sentences. All of our sentences should have an upper case letter to start, finger spaces, and periods.
The letter a was studied the last two weeks. Our biggest challenge was learning that a can say two sounds, long a and short a. Ask your child!
I must end the post with, I have such a great class! I’m so Thankful your child is in this classroom.
Have a great weekend!
