Speed
Speed! Is a favorite in our classroom by all students. It's a great game to increase awareness with multiplication and skip counting.
Stem
As a class, we spent the past two Fridays working on a STEM projects. The students were to create a structure out of glue, tape, and Popsicle sticks. We has bridges, tree forts, house, play house, and buildings. It was very fascinating watching them create. Some had purposefully thought out why, what, mans how....others just started building! They discovered that the ones that had a plan first, had a better base/structure and held up better.

Rocks and minerals
On Monday we were studying rocks and minerals in science. At the end of the activity the students did a quicklab to see which types of rocks and minerals scratch the easiest or the hardest They had to make predictions and then observe what happened with each one.
App of the day
Each morning, when the students arrive they find the app of the day up on the board. Within the groups they go ahead and grab an iPad and start on the activity. Today the students practice math facts at their level against a classmate at their level.

Polar Express Day
Last Friday, we enjoyed our Polar Express day after our music program. The student's arrived to school in their pajama's. We rotated around through four different stations (wordo, story & snacks, computer games, and musical mats).
Operation Code Squad
The kids sure have been loving this app during the mornings. Up to four people can compete to practice math facts (+-X and divison), it also allows the students to pick easy, medium, or hard levels.
Million Dollar Reader
Congrats to our first two readers to read one million words!! I think we will have more kiddo's with their face in this big buck before the end of the school year!

Technology at our hands
One of my favorite things about having more ipads in our school, is having the devices at our hands for spur of the moment research. One day we were in social studies learning about old communitiies. A couple of questions came up, and I knew the basic information...but the kiddo's wanted more. So I quickly found a website with a plethora of information. I made a QR code for the kiddo's to scan. The scan took them to a website and they went off to research!
