On Friday, we had a mystery reader after recess. We heard a knock on the door so I had our start student of the week, answer the door. It was our star students, Austin, dad! He read us a great book about Ice Fishing and a book about Minnesota Riddles (we even enjoyed some swidish fish from the Klint’s…thank you!!)
About 3 minutes after our mystery reader left, we heard another knock on our door. It was SANTA!!

On Friday, we learned about Pancakes. J We first had to decided which order we had to follow to make the pancakes. We created a recipe with the step by step directions.
1. Gather Supplies
2. Measure Pancake Mix
3. Add water
4. Mix
5. Bake
6. Enjoy
The students also were able to expience the “baking” part by flipping their own pancakes. Of course we had to add some sprinkles to our pancakes!
On Thursday, we learned about a famous artist. His name was Pablo Picasso. We created our own master piece of Picasso hands holding some flowers.
Today we had our first Mystery Reader. Our Mystery Reader arrived to our classroom right after snack time. Thank you Mr. LePard for coming to read to our class!
This week we had our Music Christmas Program. For the first time in school history, our Kindergarteners got to be a part of it! They did a fabulous job!!! I was so proud of the WHOLE grade. My favorite song was “Must be Santa!” Here are a few photo’s.
Today we had someone knock on our classroom door and when we opened the door, we found a package! We opened it and it was an Elf on the Shelf. What a nice surprise! The gift included a book to read about our elf. It told us we had to name our elf and the class decided on Elf on The Shelf, Sneaky Rodger. Santa also gave us one rule for our elf- do not touch. If we touch it then it will lose its magic. The book explained that Magic's job is to watch us during the day and then fly to the North Pole at night to tell Santa what had happened at school that day. Then Magic will fly back to our classroom and watch from a different spot. I wonder where Magic will fly to next.
We’ve been learning about the letter Aa this week. Today we worked as a team to make our own applesauce. In school we’ve also been working on sequencing and ordering numbers. We talked about how 1st we need to wash the apples, 2nd we needed to cut the apples, 3rd put the apples in the crockpot, 4th add in sugar and water, 5th stir it, and finally eat it!
We are busy getting our classroom ready for the Holiday Season! We decorated our Christmas stocking and then added some glitter to them! Enjoy the pictures!
On Wednesday we read, Snowmen at Night. After reading that story we created our own snowmen and wrote a sentence about what we think snowmen do at night.
Last week one group of students played a dice game. The students rolled the dice, depending on what number showed up...they had to write a certain sight word. Look at all of these words they are learning!
