Language  Skills	Letter: Y & Z Target Skills: Long and Short Vowel Sounds Reading: Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! I’m Off to the Moon! Franklin Plays the Game + Little/Leveled Readers Poem: The Zebra, The YAK Handwriting: Journaling Sight Words: Fry Words Unit 7 (some, her, would, make, like, him, into, time, has, look)
Math Skills	Calendar Focus: Counting by 2’s on odd and even numbers Math Skills: Subtraction all this week and next week!
Other Learning Skills	Respect:         Raise your hand to speak!

   Reading Eggs: Please encourage your child to complete 2 reading eggs lesson a week!

   This week we will be doing activities with the letters Z & Y, next week will be letter U and then we are moving onto blends!

   Don’t forget to send back your monthly reading minutes!

   We can keep the snow pants at home, but please send boots! The playground will and is muddy! Hats are a good thing incase it’s windy!

   I’m looking for parents to volunteer to read on May 6^th. Our letter is “r” and the topic will be read aloud day!

Friday Stations

For Friday stations we had four rotations today. The stations were….

 

1.       Make an OWL for our door (Kindergarten is a Hoot)

2.       Make a Kite and write your favorite things about Kindergarten. We will be making a bullient board that says, “Kindergarten is flying by, my favorites things are….”

3.       X-Change Autograph Books (sign books)

4.       Math Station (number decomposing and adding)

COWS

The COWS (computer on wheels) came to visit us in our classroom. We were able to enjoy our reading eggs program!

Research Work

We are learning how we can research in books and on the internet to learn information. This week we are learning about reptiles and amphibians. The past two days we have been learning about Reptiles, here are some pictures of the kids working.

 

Z is for Zebra

Our Z-A Countdown has begun! We started with Z today…

Friday Stations

The four stations that we did were….

1.       Coloring a spring picture

2.       Reading books in our Library

3.       Finding books and predicting what the book would be about.

4.       Math Egg Counters (to practice adding).

A Surprise Visitor

During Dr. Seuss' Birthday Celebration, we had some surprise visitors visit our classroom. These visitors turned out room upside down. They were throwing paper, making loud noises, and being good entertainment. :) Thank you Roseau Elementary Office Staff!

Face Off

 

In Kindergarten, we are working on adding 2 digits together to find a sum. We played a game called, Face Off, to practice adding. The kiddo's ruled two dice, added them together, and then ate the jelly bean that was on the sum. :) Fun!!

Do you like my hat?

During Dr. Seuss week, the kiddo's had the chance to make their own crazy hat.
